Could you help protect and improve access to the heritage of the River Don?

Can you inspire young people to care about their environment? Do you want to work as part of a team, get active and learn a new skill?
The Living Heritage of the River Don project has some exciting opportunities for you to make a difference!

Volunteer Workparty Dates:

All are welcome to join in with our volunteer work parties. Meet at the designated spot for a welcome talk and briefing about the days tasks. All equipment will be provided but please wear waterproof, warm clothes and sturdy shoes. We will bring the tea, coffee and biscuits! Volunteer public transport expenses or vehicle mileage can be reclaimed.

Volunteer roles currently open for applications:

Conservation Volunteer
Take part in one of our regular river clean up working parties. Depending on the season and location we will be litter picking, tackling invasive species, improving paths and maintaining trails. We will also be planning in ‘hot spot’ projects to tackle the more visible problem areas – there will be plenty of opportunity for you to shape the programme of works.

Lead Conservation Volunteer
If you have experience of practical tasks and have a day a week spare to assist the Community Engagement Officer to lead a group of conservation volunteers, we’d like to hear from you. Training will be provided.

Education & Events Volunteer
Could you help to deliver our ‘River Guardians’ school sessions and assist with activities such as guided walks and community events? Click the link above to read about becoming an education and events volunteer.
